JTAG Introduction:

AVR JTAG with Atmel's AVR Studio + iccavr or WINAVR based on a complete set of compatible JTAG interface chip debugging tool supports all AVR 8-bit RISC instruction with JTAG port of the microprocessor. JTAG interface is a 4-wire IEEE 1149.1 compliant Test Access Port (TAP) controller. IEEE standards provide an effective test circuit board connection standard methods ( boundary scan ) . Atmel's AVR devices has been extended to support full programming and on-chip debug function.

AVR JTAG emulator used for chip hardware emulation , such as single-step program execution , set breakpoints , etc., through hardware emulation can understand the details of the chip inside the program operation . AVR JTAG emulator is mainly used to simulate operation of the chip , but also can be programmed through the JTAG interface chip ( the program into the chip ) .
